  • This spectacular New Bay filly is going into training with Andrew Balding.
  • Following an incredible debut season for the first of New Bay’s runners, his progeny is highly sought-after at the sales.
  • We are therefore delighted to have been able to secure a two-year lease for this New Bay yearling.
  • A filly out of a winning mare, she also has a winning half-sister by Pivotal. Her granddam, Approach, won a listed race and is responsible for producing the majestic Coronet.
  • Trained by John Gosden, Coronet claimed group 1 and group 2 wins, as well as being placed in numerous races, often succumbing to Enable, her enigmatic, unstoppable stablemate.
  • This New Bay filly boasts Coronet as a close relation, but she is also related to Galileo colt Midas Touch, three-time winner Streetcar To Stars, group 1 winner Aussie Rules (now a stallion), four-time group 2 and 3 winner Last Second and group 3 winner Cribbs Causeway.
  • With an impressive pedigree and a trainer with a proven track record and a winning mentality, the future looks bright for this filly.

Arabescatta won 4 times on the track and placed a further 4 times as a 3yo. She is by the great German stallion Monsun who is responsible for numerous Group 1 winners. Arbescatta has already produced a multiple winner in Midnight Blue who has won 3 times as a 3yo.
Approach a high class racehorse in her own right being a listed winner and Group placed. It is however as a broodmare where she has excelled even more producing both Midas Touch (group 2 winner) and Coronet a multiple Group 1 winner for John Gosden who performed in all of the top races during her career often being beaten by her illustrious stablemate Enable.
Last Second a twice Group2 winning horse has passed on her significant ability to her offspring with Approach and Aussie Rules themselves being Group horses. The later being a successful stallion now as well.

MEET the

TRAINER

Andrew Balding

Andrew Balding took the reins from his father, Ian, becoming a licensed trainer at Kingsclere in 2003. His training career got off to a flying start with victory in the 2003 Epsom Oaks with Casual Look.

Over the years, Andrew has earned a reputation as one of the best trainers in the business and he has enjoyed several high-profile successes, including a string of group 1 wins at home and abroad. In 2018, he recorded a staggering 125 wins and the yard secured over £2 million in prize money in the 2017/2018 season.

Andrew is incredibly consistent, and he has appeared in the top 15 of the British Flat Trainers’ Championship every year since 2012. Andrew hails from a family that is steeped in racing history and he lives and breathes racing. He grew up at Kingsclere with sister, Clare, a stalwart of sports reporting.
